Golf grants on the horizon for groups

Carnoustie community groups are being invited to apply for the first tranche of funding to be made available from the golf course.

Carnoustie Golf Links Management Committee recently acquired charitable status by the OSCR and will be able to award grants this November and then twice yearly thereafter.

The trustees are looking to support organisations whose main activities take place in the DD7 postcode or from any golf club or golf body involved in expanding public participation in golf in Angus.

They should fall within the scope of the objects of GCLMC Ltd, which are to promote and encourage: the provision or development of recreational facilities in the Carnoustie area with the objective of improving the recreational facilities or activities available to citizens residing within the Carnoustie area; the advancement of the arts, heritage, culture and the community development for the benefit of citizens residing in the Carnoustie area; public participation in the sport of golf in the area of Angus; the advancement of environmental protection or improvement.
