Young Carnoustie bakers were battling it out in the Fairtrade Junior Bake Off at the end of February. There were a good number of entries to the competition at the Philip Hall and each recipe had to feature at least one Fairtrade ingredient. The first three places were awarded a certificate, the winner will be presented with an engraved trophy in due course. The Carnoustie Fairtrade Group is currently collecting the recipes entered and will print them for circulation. Results were: 1, Callan Batchelor, chocolate orange loaf cake; 2, Christy Baird, victoria sponge; 3, Connor Bisgrove, raspberry muffins.
