Group awaits lottery decision

THE NEXT few days will be nerve racking for Monifieth Community Resourse Group (MCRG) as they wait to find out if their bid for Stage 1 funding from the Big Lottery has been successful.

Former Angus councillor Jean Lee, the newly elected chair, explained that for more than 10 years the project battled to make any real progress but then over the last couple of years there have been massive steps forward with architecture partner Aim Design and business consultancy partner Iridescence contributing to the feasibility report that was an essential part of the funding application.

She stated: “Obviously we’re all keeping our fingers and toes crossed because this funding would allow us to get to grips with the detail of the needs of the user groups and the demands on any building.”
