The first session of Football Action Carnoustie, which took place last week, has been hailed a resounding success.

The newly formed partnership with Carnoustie Panmure Football Club proved a winning formula according to Lorraine Young, president of the Rotary Club of Carnoustie, which runs the Football Action Group.

She said: “The breadth of the smiles and the heartiness of the laughter throughout the session said more than words alone could ever say. At half time the group enjoyed a cup of Bovril and a Hot Pie just as they would on match days with the added bonus of homemade chocolate cake to round off the session! Sincere thanks must go to the nominated Team Manager, Craig Murray and all the volunteers for the sterling work they did in preparing for, and throughout, the session.”
