Have your say

Angus Council wants to hear your views about investment priorities for council services over the next two or three years.

The council is undertaking a survey of residents about the service priorities and the levels of service that are acceptable to them.

A confidential online questionnaire allows participants to prioritise services.

The research, which also includes face-to-face interviews with a representative sample of residents, will be used along with other information to help the council plan services and budgets in the coming years.

Encouraging residents to have their say Angus Council leader Iain Gaul said the research would help the council to be better informed about residents’ priorities.

He explained: “Improving the quality of life for Angus residents is our business, and we shouldn’t be planning that business without knowing which services residents put most value on. The detailed research questionnaire shows the kind of options open to the council and asks people to choose the services, and levels of service, most important to them.

“In the coming years we will have significantly less money so there is going to be a tough trade-off between the service standards we would like and the money available to pay for them.

“This focused research will give us detailed information about people’s priorities which - when considered along with other intelligence gathered and our obligations - will help us plan relevant, cost-effective local services in the coming years and ensure we invest money, people and time in the right places.”

The online questionnaire is a structured exercise based on a points system and takes around 20 minutes to complete. The questionnaire is available at www.angus.gov.uk/priorities
