Concern over number of meningitis cases

Have your say

The Meningitis Research Foundation(MRF) is concerned about the number of student cases of meningitis in Scotland since the new term began in September. MRF is also raising awareness with parents of younger children. The charity is warning parents of young children as well as teenagers and students to be especially aware of the symptoms. Although there are vaccines to cover some strains, they do not cover all types of the disease, therefore awareness of symptoms and swift action are vital. Anyone who would like further information about the symptoms of meningitis and septicaemia or who has any concerns should visit the website www.meningitis.org or call the Freefone Helpline on 080 8800 3344.
