Guided tours of the ornate House were part of the draw at Hospitalfield’s open weekend recently.

The newly furbished walled garden and cafe, art displays provided a feast for the eyes and visitors were also treated to a screening of influential artist and film maker John Smith’s work ‘Home Suite’.

Artist Stephen Sutcliffe, who creates film collages from an extensive British television archive, contributed to the Saturday evening’s events by screening Our Mother’s House (1967) including an excerpt from Word for Word, the 70s BBC book program presented by
Robert Robinson.

The next open weekend starts on September 5.
