A group of fearless fundraisers hot-footed it to a fantastic total for a good cause at a charity fire walk on Saturday night.
Over £4500 was raised by the event in aid of Horseback UK, which helps injured service personnel regain their confidence through horseriding in the great outdoors. The firewalk was organised by former military man Ian Wren and his wife, Beth, with the help of Phoenix Firewalk of Glenrothes, and was held at Peter Stirling’s East Newton Farm, near Arbroath.
Volunteers went through extensive training before stepping onto the path of hot coals, and the embers could reach temperatures of up to 1200 degrees fahrenheit.Afterwards the volunteers and spectators were treated to a beer and hot soup supplied by Ian and Beth.
Ian has now organised a race night in the Station Bar on Friday, November 13, which will also raise funds for Horseback UK.
