How to write a plea for council funding

COMMUNITY groups and voluntary organisations in the Monifieth and Carnoustie area are invited to attend a committee game session being held by Angus Council’s external funding team and community learning and development staff.

Group members will have the chance to discover what it is like to be an assessor, to read and score applications, and then discuss with others who should be awarded the money.

A spokesperson for Angus Council said: “With applications for grants becoming increasingly competitive as funding gets tighter, this session allows applicants to find out what funding assessors are looking for when they award grants to organisations.

“This hands-on session will help groups to focus on what makes a good application and so help to improve their applications

“Participants who have previously taken part in this session have found it invaluable, informative, and enjoyable.”

The event will take place in Monifieth on January 19, from 1.30 to 4 p.m.

Those interested in attending should contact Eddie Findlay, 01307 473264, for details of the venue and to book places; or e-mail
