Irish star set for Monikie

Derek Ryan, one of the biggest new Irish artists to hit the country scene, is to play Monikie Hall on Saturday, August 17.

Derek is currently one of the hottest country artists to come out of Ireland and was well known as the lead singer of Irish pop band ‘D-Side’ achieving a multi-platinum selling single ‘Real World’ and live TV appearances on shows including Top of the Pops and GMTV.

Derek decided to move over to Irish country and has already achieved platinum for his first solo album ‘Made of Gold’.

He has already won many musical accolades and is also a very talented songwriter. His talented band consist of musicians who have backed artists such as Ronan Keating, Bob Geldolf and Brian Kennedy.

He has drawn a large fan base from all age groups and is especially popular with the younger audience. His band have played to crowded dance halls and theatres all over Ireland and the UK encouraging a huge surge of young people learning to ‘jive’ to his music.
