Jazz at Hospitalfield

DOUBLE bills have become a feature of this year’s programme of jazz events at Hospitalfield, Arbroath, and the next concert on Saturday, September 29, will continue in that vein.

The opening set will fall to two members of the popular Nova Scotia Jazz Band, John Burgess on clarinet and sax and Duncan Findlay on guitar and banjo.

The second half of the concert will feature a young American piano player from St Louis, Stephanie Trick will be making her debut at the venue and has been described as “one of the nicest gifts to arrive on the jazz piano scene in recent times.”

She plays stride piano made famous by the Harlem players like Fats Waller but also includes other styles in her repertoire.

Tickets costing £12 can be reserved by calling 01382 774648.
