PREPARATIONS are in full swing for Carnoustie’s contribution to Her Majesty The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations this year.
The celebrations will be held at Glamis Castle on Sunday, May 20, and community groups have been invited to take part.
According to Carnoustie Community Council, many groups and organisations have already booked their places in the Carnoustie marquee, one of seven representing each of the Angus burghs.
Community Council organiser Sue McMahon said: “Hopefully, all local organisations have now been contacted, but if anyone has been missed and would like to take part please get in touch.”
Participants will meet on Wednesday (February 8) at 7.30 p.m. in the Laurie Lounge of the Royal British Legion.
Mrs McMahon added: “We have had a very positive response so far from local groups and space in the marquee will be at a premium, so anyone who hasn’t already booked a place should do so as soon as possible.
“It is important that the community has as broad an input as possible into the set-up of your marquee.”
