Swooping in on their magic carpet just in time for panto season is Monifieth Amateur Dramatic’s production of ‘Aladdin’.
MAD bring to life the story of lovable rogue Aladdin (Iona Stewart) as he battles the evil Abanazer (Cliff Cuthbertson) with a little help from his friends The Genie (Steven Armstrong) and The Slave of The Ring (Shona Smith). Aladdin has fallen for Cha-Ming (Chelsey Whatley), daughter of the Emperor (Donald Fraser).
MAD’s talented youth section again make a big impact on the show with many principal and chorus roles taken on by the youngsters.
‘Aladdin’ has everything you could want from a panto, from crazy panto dames to silly sidekicks, there are gags for all the family to enjoy.
‘Aladdin’ runs at Monifieth Theatre from November 24-27, and December 1-4. Performances are 7.30pm, Thursday to Saturday, with 2.30pm matinees on Saturdays and Sundays.
