A CARNOUSTIE pub already has preparations for a popular summer event well under way according to organisers.
The Kinloch Arms Beerfest runs from next Friday, August 26, to Sunday, August 28, and over the last four years has become a regular in the social calendar of many locals.
Manager of the Kinloch Arms Jonathon McInally said: “This is the fourth year that we’ve been doing the festival and every year more and more people attend.”
On offer are 20 cask beers, fruit beer, fruit cider, Continental lager, flavoured vodkas, pitchers of cocktails as well as all the regular tipples.
Cask beers this year will include the enticingly named ‘Bobby Dazzler’ and ‘Top Totty’, as well as traditional favourites Theakston’s ‘Old Peculiar’, Timothy Taylor’s ‘Landlord’ and ‘Old Speckled Hen’.
There will also be a barbecue serving food each day during the festivities, and there will be 12 live bands playing over the weekend.
Bands will include Mamma’s Baby, The Junkyard Dogs, Independence, Tonka, Deadlight Red, the Sons of Bertie Basset and the Little Wolves will be making a welcome return to the event.
Jonathon said: “This year we have six new bands, as well as six popular acts that have appeared before.
“We are all looking forward to seeing new and regular faces and welcoming them to the party.”
