A UNIQUE dance fitness class is coming to Monifieth next month.
In September David Lloyd’s Leisure Centre at Ethiebeaton will be holding classes on new craze Bokwa.
Bokwa is an intense cardiovascular workout incorporating elements of South African war dance, capoeira, kickboxing and combines this with footwork based on the alphabet, numbers and hand signals.
Rob Beale, David Lloyd Leisure’s head of sports, health and fitness, said: “We are extremely excited to be launching Bokwa for our members.
“We are always looking to develop our timetables and provide new innovative classes and activities for our members.”
Bokwa creator Paul Mavi explained how accessible the workout is. He said: “If you can move and you can spell, you can Bokwa.
“Bokwa is simple to learn, but extremely energetic. There are very few workouts that will burn up to 1,300 calories and there are very few workouts that are more addictive.”
