A CAPACITY crowd enjoyed the Carnoustie branch of the Royal British Legion’s annual Burns Supper held last week in their clubrooms.
George McAnish got the evening off to a flying start with an energetic address to the haggis which was followed by the usual bill of fare.
Bob Brown continued the proceedings with an excellent Immortal Memory followed by a very humorous Toast to the Lasses by Howard Evans and an equally entertaining reply by Heather Fraser.
Vice-chair Lindsay Martin presided and Pipe Major Ryan Kennedy piped the haggis to the top table.
Reports that ‘haggis-bearer’ Barry Smith had to have his apron strings extended to accommodate his ample frame are unconfirmed!
Members and guests rounded off the evening with a good old-fashioned ceilidh and a few drams in memory of the Bard.
