ANGUS Council has announced changes to its library opening hours which will come into effect on Tuesday, April 3.
Library users can find out what the new hours are by visiting www.angus.gov.uk/AngusLibraries. Information will also be available through local libraries.
The new hours reflect the feedback from a users’ survey, while taking into account the most effective way to deliver library services, and library usage figures.
Changes include a half-day closing, a 10 a.m. opening time and earlier closing times on some weekdays to concentrate service on the busiest times at each of the council’s seven burgh libraries.
The proposal to change library opening hours reflects the outcome of Angus Council’s 2012-13 budget consultation which asked for feedback on whether hours at facilities such as libraries should be reviewed in line with customer use.
