Arbroath Tablers distributed the last of the monies raised from Toonfest 2013 event this past week.

Ths comes in advance of the third annual Toonfest which takes place this year on Saturday, May 17, with tickets selling well and available from Specsavers in the Abbeygate Centre.

The purpose of Toonfest, aside from providing Arbroath with a great community event, is to raise funds to support the people of the town in their endeavours and various organisations in town.

Some £6,000 was raised at Toonfest 2013 with preparations for this year’s event well under way.

It was a busy night as the Tablers of Arbroath distributed several hundred pounds to people within the town.

Chairman Jamie Buchan said: “It is a genuine pleasure when we meet each month to discuss the applications for funding we receive, knowing that we are helping to make a difference to the many people within our community.

“The good thing about Table is that we cover a very diverse array of people and causes and tonight’s giveaways certainly highlight that.”
