Angus Writers’ Circle had a special visitor last Wednesday. Award-winning playwright and director David Ian Neville delighted the group by providing them with a drama workshop to get their creative juices flowing.
David, who has written a number of plays including The Edinburgh Fringe First award-winning play ‘Exile’, worked with the group on their writing and encouraged members to use their own memories and experiences to help them develop believable characters.
He also spoke to the group about his own inspiration for writing ‘Exile’, a play about the effects of terrorism and his most famous works, his adaptions of the Joan Lingard books ‘Twelfth Day of July’ and ‘Across The Barricades’.
The Circle meets on the first and third Wednesday of every month from 7.30 to 10 p.m. in the Rosely Hotel, Arbroath. New members are always welcome.
