A pair of intrepid ladies from Auchmithie’s But ‘n’ Ben have put in the miles to raise over £1,500 for charities close to their hearts.

Proprietor Margo Horn and member of staff Annie McLean earlier this month took part in the first every Angus Triathlon in Montrose.

Margo said: “My first triathlon at the tender age of 50, I must be off my head!

“I was just thinking, I’m 50 now, if I don’t start doing things like that I will never do them at all. It’s not a bucket list or anything like that.”

Margo raised £852 which went to Alzheimers’ Scotland while Annie split her total to give £325 to Alzheimers’ Scotland and £400 to the Monkbarns Care Home Comfort Fund.

Both women have close family members who have been diagnosed with Alzheimers, Margo’s Aunt Heather and Annie’s father who now resides in Monkbarns Care Home.
