The Angus economy has received a boost with the news that the county has regained Assisted Area status.
The council had lobbied the UK Government to include the area in its submission to the European Commission for inclusion in the Assisted Areas’ map.
This was approved by the European Commission last week, and will unlock potential investment for local businesses.
Welcoming the news, the council’s convener of Development and Enterprise Mairi Evans said: “I am delighted that the council’s campaign to have the area reinstated on the Assisted Areas’ map has been approved.
“This is great news for Angus, and will provide funding incentives for local businesses to grow and develop.”
