CARNOUSTIE’S very own Fairtrade fashion show was a success recently according to organisers.

Irene Hoar, chair of the Carnoustie Fairtrade group, hailed the fashion show a success in the Philip Hall on Friday, September 14 using ethically traded styles from Sunrise of Brechin.

She said: “The fashion show was a great success with loads of people there. The Provost opened the event and encouraged everyone to support Fairtrade both in Carnoustie and Angus.

“The High school students who modelled the clothes did so with energy and enthusiasm and showed everything off to it’s best advantage.”

It is hoped the fashion show will encourage shops and businesses to sign up as Fairtrade supporters and join other Angus towns such as Arbroath, Brechin, Forfar and Montrose as Fairtrade towns.
