Local singer, concert producer and restaurateur James Hutcheson was the principal guest at the latest meeting of Arbroath Rotary Club.

James was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation by club president Ian Lamb in recognition of his excellent production of the club’s recent Charity Concert at the Webster Memorial Theatre.

The show, which featured a wide selection of Arbroath’s talent, was a terrific success and the proceeds from the event; in excess of £3,000, will go towards providing a series of AEDs or Automatic External Defibrillators.

Around 300 performers, many of them youngsters, took part in the fund-raising concert.

James said: “I am delighted to receive this certificate and to have been involved with this life-saving project.

“I am also pleased to have helped Arbroath Rotary Club with such an important community project and would like to thank all the performers and helpers who contributed to the show, making it the success that it was.”
