Local lad Lochlan Robertson, 8, will now be able to go on holiday thanks to the incredible fund-raising efforts of his family and friends.
Lochlan, who suffers from cerebal palsy and several other complex needs, sleeps in a special bed at home which keeps him safe and secure at night.
For the same safety while on holiday he would need a Safety Sleeper...but now his wait is nearly over!
His parents, William and Allison, with the help of Margaret and Gary Cooper and James Cameron arranged an Evening of Mediumship and A Prize Bingo Evening at the British Legion Arbroath on May 1 and May 9 - and added to several other recent fund-raisers have raised and amazing £3,500 to buy the sleeper.
Now Lochlan can soon go on holiday with his parents and his younger brother and sister.
Many, many thanks is given to those mentioned above and to the local businesses, shops, family and friends who kindly donated suitable items for both bingo and raffle prizes.
Thanks also to those who gave donations directly to the fund in particular EIS Waste, Old & Abbey Sunday School and TSB, not forgetting everyone who have supported us and attended the fund-raising evenings making them a great success.
The amount raised will cover the purchase of the Safety Sleeper and its transport costs from the USA and any surplus fund will be put toward the next item of equipment that Lochlan needs.
Well done everyone!
