A 17-year-old man was released from police custody on an undertaking to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court, following a disturbance in Russell Street, Rothesay.

A 17-year-old man was released from police custody on an undertaking to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court, following a disturbance in Russell Street, Rothesay.

Police have detained a man in connection with an incident in Baldovie Terrace last night (Monday).

The 31-year-old male was detained and is assisting officers with their enquiries following a disturbance in the Baldovie Terrace at around 11.20 p.m.

Another man, aged 34, was taken to Ninewells Hospital as a result of the incident where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries and detained over night.

Police Scotland is continuing with enquiries into the full set of circumstances around the incident and would appeal for any witnesses to come forward.

Officers will be carrying out door-to-door enquiries in the area today and forensic experts will be undertaking further detailed examination of the scene.
