“Austerity has claimed another victim,” sadly announced the team at Starter Packs Angus.
Aimied at combatting the vicious cycle of homelessness created by people who are unable to maintain tenancies and afford basic household good, the vital service has had to close.
Funding from local authorities, trusts and fund givers was no longer available.
The board would like to thank those who supported the project, in particular Scottish Churches Housing Action and all the Angus congregations.
“We will not be able to accept any donations as from now and there will be no packs issued after July 31,” said a spokesperson from the charity. “There are many assets in the warehouse as well as the stock in the shop so there is an opportunity to buy these items in our clearance sale, open now.” The money raised will go towards the closing down costs.
