Arbroath Town Mission’s work in the community received a boost to the tune of nearly £1,000 at the weekend at a special concert.
The hall at the Mission was packed with over 150 people on Friday night for an evening of dazzling talent that realised the sum of £823.
There were brilliant performances from well known local singers Maggie Findlay, Layla Brown and Doug Ford, as well as young brass band Con Fuoco.
Music ranged from classical to swing to well known movie soundtracks. The evening was expertly compered by Eric Buick who also got in on the act with a couple of songs, as did Moira Milton with a duet with Doug Ford.
Mission pastor Dave Webster, who participated in the evening with a short talk, said: “We had a fantastic evening, with a great turnout and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. It was great to see lots of new faces as well.
“Arbroath Town Mission is known for its work in the community, and the funds raised will help us as we seek to develop this with things such as our Mission Kids Holiday Club from the 7th to 11th of July.
He added: “I would also like to say to all who came, and particularly all the performers and musicians, thank you for supporting us.”
