A Broughty Ferry car dealership has come in pole position after winning a national award for their motability service.

West End Honda on Queen Street has been named as the best national dealer for 2013 for motability, taking into account sales volumes, sales and aftercare.

The dealership beat off competition from 4,000 other showrooms to win the prize, which was presented to them in their premises on Tuesday.

A spokesman for West End Honda said: “This simply cements the values that West End Motor Group instils across the group ensuring customers receive a warm welcome and the type of service that has allowed them to service the motoring needs of Tayside and Angus for over 35 years now.

“West End Honda has created an environment which allows customers to feel at ease in the dealership, with motability experts who can enhance the experience of purchasing a car through the scheme.”

The motability scheme specifically helps disabled people and enables them to use their government-funded mobility allowance to lease a new car.

Around three million people in the UK have taken advantage of motability since the scheme started in 1978.
