Ferry Ward councillor Kevin Cordell has welcomed news that new funds are to be made available for community groups in Broughty Ferry.
The Ferry ward will receive £10,000 funding to assist in neighbourhood projects and activities to help people living in deprivation and improve the environment.
The funding comes as part of a re-organisation of funding allocated to the Dundee’s Regeneration Forums which amounts to £846,000 in total.
Council Cordell said: “Of Dundee’s eight electoral wards, only the Ferry and the West End did not meet the funding criteria as set out under the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation and whilst I fully agree that other areas in the city have greater levels of deprivation I have argued that no area should miss out on funding.
“I am therefore delighted to see this new money coming to the Ferry.”
