An application has been lodged with Angus Council for the redevelopment of a former Carnoustie care home into affordable housing.
A proposed 16 homes could be built on the site of the former Camus House care home which was recently replaced by the Kinloch Care Centre and has since lain empty.
According to the design brief supplied by Angus Council’s housing department the development will be a mixture of affordable housing and homes for ex-service personnel.
There will be eight single storey one bedroom homes, a pair of two bedroom two storey homes and one three bedroomed two storey home for general affordable housing.
The remaining four two bedroom and one three bedroom homes are all single storey and will be made available as affordable housing for ex-service personnel.
According to the report the courtyard housing has been designed with a mix of hard and soft landscaping all with emphasis on wheelchair movement.
