Police are investigating after the toddler play equipment at Carnoustie’s Sandy Sensation beach park was vandalised yet again on Tuesday evening.
Fire damage was caused to climbing equipment sometime between 8 a.m. on Tuesday and 8 a.m. on Wednesday.
Council leisure spokesperson Councillor Jeanette Gaul said: “This is not the first time that Sandy Sensation has been the victim of vandalism and this trail of destruction is costing the council tax payer dearly. It is particularly disheartening to see this destruction at times of severe budget cuts. Funds will have to be diverted to pay for these repairs which could have been put towards equipment in other areas.
Police Scotland say they want to stress to the person responsible the dangers of playing with fire could cause serious harm. Anyone who has information should call Tayside Division on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
