Project nominated for award

AN EMPLOYMENT project which works in Arbroath has been short-listed for a prestigious award.

DEAP (Dundee Employment and Aftercare Project) based on the West Port, have been nominated for the YESS to Jobs, SURF award for best practice in youth employability and skills services.

The team will travel to the awards ceremony in Glasgow on December 12 to find out if they have been successful.

Managing director Mary Hamilton said: “This is really an award for all the hard work and effort from the DEAP team. The award recognises the way in which we have helped many young people gain employment and skills within the local area.

“There has been stiff competition from other projects in Scotland and to get to this stage is a major boost, not just for us but for the people whom we have supported in Arbroath and Dundee.”
