Blue skies were just beginning to peak through the clouds as crowds gathered to await the arrival of the Queen’s Baton relay into Angus today (Saturday).
There was a good turnout this morning of flag-waving supporters who lined the A930 Ferry Road at the Welcome to Angus sign on the edge of Monifieth.
Among those there to mark the event were the Lord Provost of Dundee, Bob Duncan and Angus Provost Helen Oswald.
The passing of the baton into Angus from Dundee was heralded by pipers from Monifieth and traditional dancers.
Bruce Philip had the distinction of carrying the baton into Angus and getting the ball rolling for the day.
Keep an eye on our websites and also #QBRangus throughout the day as the baton progresses through our area.
