Throughout Angus this summer children will have the opportunity to take part in a number of different sports and activities through the council leisure service’s summer holiday programme.

The programme starts on Monday, June 30, continuing until Friday, August 8.

Bookings are open from 10 a.m. on Monday, June 16, at local leisure facilities.

This combined programme includes all Angus Council leisure facility activities, sports specific coaching including athletics, rugby, golf, basketball, football and dance, Rural Summer Active Club and Sport & Recreation for People with a Disability.

A full and varied sport and recreation programme is also available for people with a disability throughout Angus.

In order to further develop the opportunities available to children with additional support needs the Development Officer for Disabilities has developed links into various programmes and these are identified as being supported by Disability Sport Coaches in the brochure.

The programme also provides information on sports and activities taking place at all Angus Council sports centres and swimming pools over the summer period. Each of the facilities has a wide range of activities available including holiday clubs for boys and girls with the emphasis entirely around fun, fun and more fun!!

This year will again see almost all of the activities in the programme coming under the bACTIVE membership scheme which will allow a child to attend several activities throughout the holidays.

For full details of the activities on offer over the summer please visit www.angus.gov.uk/leisure, like the council on Facebook at www.facebook.com/anguseisure or visit your local sports centre or swimming pool.
