The ladies’ skeet shooting competition at Barry Buddon turned into a two country show yesterday (Friday) as Wales and Australia battled it out.

But it was Australian Laura Coles who emerged victorious after a clinical display in the final against Welsh shooter Elena Allen.

Coles scored an impressive 14 out of a possible 16 in the skeet shooting to earn Australia’s first shooting medal at Glasgow 2014.

After the competition she said: “I just couldn’t believe what I had done - a dream.

“It was very nerve-wracking but I just stuck to the process.”

Andri Eleftherious completed the podium trio winning bronze for Cyprus.
