It’s plush living at new Arbroath cattery Elliot Mews which opened its feline doors on Saturday.

The purpose built cattery boasts the quiet seclusion of a countryside haven.

Each spacious pen is fitted with underfloor heating, web-cams and individual music speakers for some serene bedtime tunes.

There are ten pens in total with two large pens which can easily accommodate four cats from the same family.

“We have really tried to make it as much as a home from home as possible while ensuring that it is a well-ventilated and clean environment. The guests enjoy twice daily maid service, the peace and quiet of our location along with entertainment provided by my twelve free range chickens,” explained owner Suzanne.

Guests are checked regularly throughout the day and there is a tuck-in final check later in the evenings to make sure all is well.

Designed by the Voigt Partnership and built by local tradesmen J&G Builders and Mark Craig from MC Joinery, owners Suzanne and Robert Cargill deliberately used Arbroath based firms.

“The facilities are suitable for indoor and outdoor cats, built with a cats every comfort and safety in mind!” Suzanne explained.

New signs are in place to guide interested customers in for a tour. The Cattery is open from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Monday to Saturday as well as 4.30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays.

Viewing and drop off appointments are available outwith these times through prior arrangement.
