YEAR'S WORK OF FORUM TO BE DISCUSSED

ANYONE interested in outdoor access in Angus is invited along to an open meeting of the Angus Local Access Forum in Arbroath on Tuesday.

The event is open to all and starts at 7 p.m. at the Angus College Conference Centre, Keptie Road, Arbroath.

This, the fourth annual meeting of the forum, offers members and other interested parties the opportunity to meet to discuss the work of the local forum over the past 12 months.

Speakers at the 2009 event include Angus Council's countryside access officer Paul Clark, who will update those attending on the Angus Core Path Plan, and Richard Cooke the convener of the National Access Forum.

Gavin Dobson, a land manager and vice-chairman of the local forum, will summarise the forum's work during the past year.

Members of the forum who are representative of land managers, access users and communities and associated organisations and agencies, will also be available for an informal discussion at the end of the meeting.

Anyone who would like to participate is asked to e-mail phillipsge@angus.gov.uk

There is currently a vacancy on the forum for a land management representative and a user representative. Anyone who would like to be considered for either vacancy, or take part in the selection procedure, should contact the forum administrator, Gillian Phillips, at phillipsge@angus.gov.uk or telephone 01307 473334.

Applications should be returned by Friday, June 26. An election procedure will be put in place when details of all candidates have been received.
