A Carnoustie woman has launched an online auction to raise funds for a friend who has been diagnosed with cancer.
Kali Whyte has arranged the auction on her Facebook page to raise money to help a good friend who was recently diagnosed with the illness.
She has secured a golf package from Carnoustie Golf Links Management Committee worth £680 and caddie master Ailsa Roy has donated the services of four caddies for the round.
Kalie said: “It is so kind of Carnoustie Golf Links and Ailsa to donate this prize, and having the caddies makes it all the better.
A number of fundraisers have already been held for the family man, who prefers to remain anonymous, including the donation of the proceeds from a Gowfers’ friendly at the end of July and a bingo night on Tuesday.
Held in the Station Hotel, the bingo night which was also arranged by Kali, raised an incredible £532.
She added: “This is a great cause and all the money goes to support a local man and his family.
“I went to school with him and when I saw on Facebook that he wasn’t well and money was needed to get alternative therapy myself and Jonny McInally thought a bingo night would be a fun idea so we organised it ourselves.
“Jonny went round local businesses for prizes and we had some great donations of vouchers for meals, carpet cleaning and MOTs. All of the raffle prizes were donated by local folk as well.”
You can find the auction on Kali Whyte’s Facebook page and it will run until Sunday at 10pm, so get bidding!
