DUNDEE East MSP Shona Robison has expressed her delight with Big Lottery Awards to two local organisations.
Dundee and Angus Battalion The Boys’ Brigade has recently received a £1,730 award and Broughty Castle Bowling Club received £10,000.
Ms Robison told the Guide & Gazette: “I am writing to congratulate Mr Gary Miller of the Dundee and Angus Battalion The Boys’ Brigade at Dundee Battalion Headquarters and Mr Leslie Silver of Broughty Castle Bowling Club.
“It is always worthwhile for local groups and organisations to apply to the Big Lottery Awards For All so that they can obtain funding for valuable projects to enhance the community and promote education, the environment and health.”
Dundee and Angus Battalion of the Boys’ Brigade were needing to upgrade their IT and presentation equipment. Their grant will fund a laptop, software, printer, wireless router, projector and screen.
Broughty Castle Bowling Club will use their award to install disabled toilet facilities to ensure access for all and create a more inclusive club.
Awards for All Scotland is supported by the Creative Scotland, sportscotland and the Big Lottery Fund, who award grants of between £500 and £10,000 for people to take part in art, sport, heritage and community activities.
