Angus Council’s Angus Active Schools Team is urging local people to get their running shoes on and raise money for charity.
On Sunday, March 23, the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile will be setting off from Monifieth High at 12.30 p.m., with hundreds of locals getting on their marks, getting set and running for the cause. Entrants don’t have to be sporty to take part and can choose to complete one, three or six miles knowing that all the money raised will help to change people’s lives of people.
Council leisure spokesperson Councillor Jeanette Gaul said: “I’m looking forward to seeing hundreds of Angus residents taking part, getting sponsored and raising money for Sport Relief. As well as the chance to take part and make a difference, there will be lots of fun activities for runners and their family and friends. As one of the UK’s biggest fundraising events, Sport Relief brings the entire nation together to get active, raise cash and change lives.”
