THE MINISTER of St James Church, Broughty Ferry, and his family, who are from Brazil, have become British Citizens.
The Rev Alberto Almeida De Paula (42), his wife Luciane and sons Davi (16) and Isaque (13) attended at Dundee City Chambers to take the oath of allegiance to Her Majesty The Queen. The ceremony was conducted by Depute Lord Lieutenant Charles Webster, a former Broughty Ferry councillor, who is also session clerk of St Jame’s Church.
Mr de Paula said that the local area is now firmly his home.
He and his family came to the UK seven years ago and felt that taking British citizenship was “the right thing to do”.
The two boys attend Monifieth High School.
