CARNOUSTIE student Ciara Howie (pictured right), ‘the face of Dundee’s Wellgate Shopping Centre’, has celebrated more modelling success after being signed up to one of Scotland’s leading talent and model agencies, the Colours Agency.

The Carnoustie-based beauty, who celebrates her 18th birthday next month, got her big break last year when she won Wellgate Shopping Centre’s ‘Find the Face 2010’.

The annual competition seeks local people of all ages to front the centre’s year-round PR, marketing and advertising campaigns. Entering the 13-19 age category, Ciara wowed the judges with her natural poise, charm and stunning smile.

Following her Wellgate triumph, Ciara starred, along with the other winners, in the centre’s autumn, Christmas, and spring photo shoots as well as the centre’s biggest event, the annual fashion show.

And to top it off, she ended last year with a bang by earning a major contract with Matalan to work on a shoot with top designer Jeff Banks. With her deal with the Colours Agency now signed it seems the sky’s the limit for the teenager.

Rosalynd Ramage, managing director, Colours Model Management, said: “We first met Ciara making her catwalk debut at the Wellgate’s annual fashion show. She stood out from the crowd even then: she has gained even more experience over the last few months and now we feel the time is right to work together. We are very excited about this bright young talent, who has an exciting future ahead!”

Busy studying English, biology, maths and psychology at Angus College, Ciara now plans to take a gap year to pursue a career in modelling. Reflecting on the news she said: “Signing up to the Colours Agency is so exciting and it hasn’t really sunk in yet. I feel so lucky. Find the Face at the Wellgate has been a fantastic experience; it has given me the boost I needed to really follow my passion for modelling.”

Dee Buffone, Wellgate Centre manager, said: “Everyone at Wellgate wishes Ciara all the best with her future career in modelling and couldn’t be prouder that she started out as one of our Faces. We’re sure she’ll blow the industry away.”
