THE NEW kitchen at Panbride Church will be opened later this month by the Right Reverend David Arnott, moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland.
The ceremony will take place on Tuesday, April 24, during his tour of the Presbytery of Angus.
The new kitchen will feature brand new facilities such as a six-ring cooker, fridge, dishwasher and storage cupboards.
Reverend Matthew Bickett, minister of Carnoustie Panbride Church, said: “It is hoped that the church and those organisations which use the hall will be able to expand their activities once the kitchen is up and running.
“Those who have been involved with the planning have always seen this as a community resource, and a number of local businesses have supplied many of the materials.”
Guests have been invited from Angus Council, the local Ministers’ Council, community organisations, and those involved in the construction project.
It is hoped that members of the congregation will also attend. Music will be supplied by the Carnoustie and District Brass Band and the Arbroath Instrumental Band.
There will also be a finger buffet and Fairtrade wine and soft drinks.
Reverend Bickett concluded: “Fund-raising for the project is going well and it is hoped that everything will be paid off in the not too distant future.”
