Popular singer/songwriter Moira Kerr is to perform at Brechin Cathedral on Saturday, April 18 at 7.30 p.m.

Her songs, for which she also often composes the music, are mainly of Scotland and the Highlands and show a rare insight and love of her homeland.

The albums which she has created have a wide appeal to all groups, and her poetry, a new venture, has a poignancy and wit which is refreshing and subtle.

Moira’s song-writing abilities were put to the test when BBC Television asked her to write 12 songs for the TV series ‘Where Eagles Fly’ which presented a wide-ranging travelogue of the Scottish Highlands.

She also appeared on the BBC TV programme ‘Sweet Inspirations’ singing a selection of popular hymns which resulted in the release of her first album of hymns called ‘Be Thou My Vision’ and appearances on the BBC’s ‘Songs of Praise’.

Also performing will be ex-Scottish championship accordionist Dave Cormack and internationally acclaimed Frank McGuire on whistles and percussion.

Tickets from 01356 629360 (mornings) or 01356 624789.
