Monifieth man is new SPCS chair

Experienced property centre manager Peter Ryder has been appointed chairperson of Solicitors’ Property Centre Scotland.

The Tayside Solicitors Property Centre chief succeeds Malcolm Cannon of the Edinburgh Solicitors Property Centre.

Mr Ryder, who lives in Monifieith, told the Guide & Gazette: “I am delighted and honoured to take up the position as SPC Scotland chairperson.”

Mr Ryder (47) has been manager and a board member of the TSPC in Dundee’s Whitehall Crescent for the past three years. He previously held the position of SPC Scotland vice-chairman.

For a four-year period from 2005 he was a director with Tayside legal firm Blackadders, following a 20-year award-winning career in business development with the Halifax.

His outside interests include football. He is a past chairman of Ferry Athletic Boys’ Club, vice-chairman of Dundee East Community Sports Club and was hailed as the East Region’s Scottish Youth Football Association Volunteer of the Year for 2008/09.
