Local MSP Graeme Dey is teaming-up with Age Scotland to help distribute the charity’s 2014 ‘Hot Tips’ calendar.
The national older peoples’ charity is working with parliamentarians across Scotland as part of its ‘Spread the Warmth’ campaign.
As part of this more than 75,000 copies of the calendar have been produced with each containing useful advice aimed at helping older people stay warm all year round.
Mr Dey plans to distribute the calendars to a number of local organisations in his Angus South constituency.
He said: “I support any scheme that helps the elderly and the vulnerable and Age Scotland’s ‘Hot Tips’ calendar certainly is a wonderful resource for older people.
“With winters becoming increasingly severe in Scotland, it’s important that people prepare for whatever might arise, and Age Scotland’s Hot Tips contains everything you need to know.”
Copies of the calendar are available to older people free of charge.
