NORTH East Scotland MSP Alex Johnstone paid a visit to an ex-service personnel residence in Broughty Ferry on Friday.
Mr Johnstone stopped by at Rosendael House, which has housed over 2,000 ex servicemen and women since it opened in 1933.
The MSP is sponsoring a reception in the Scottish Parliament next month for housing Scotland’s veterans.
And speaking after the visit he said: “I was hugely impressed with the high quality of accommodation on offer to the veterans.
“With 45 en-suite rooms and one flat, it provides first class facilities and, crucially in my view, a supportive and understanding environment for the residents.
“Scottish Veterans’ Residences (SVR) who run Rosendael have been helping veterans for over a century, and their work, along with the other veterans’ charities in Scotland, will become increasingly important over the next few years.
“I welcomed the opportunity to meet some of the staff and residents, and I also thoroughly enjoyed the extensive tour of the home and its beautifully maintained grounds.
“With ambitious plans to build even more much-needed accommodation for our veterans, I applaud the hard work of SVR and look forward to seeing these new homes under construction.”
