A FLAG-RAISING ceremony will be held in Forfar at 10.30 a.m. on Monday (June 25), to celebrate the lead-up to the annual National Armed Forces Day next Saturday (June 30).
The commissioned flag of Armed Forces day will be raised by Nicole Crichton, the Lord Lieutenant’s cadet from the Air Training Corps.
The ceremony, to be held at Town and County Hall, Forfar, will link with similar events throughout the country.
Attending the ceremony will be representatives from The Royal British Legion (Scotland) Forfar Branch, current serving personnel from the Royal Navy, military associations, reservists and cadets from all three services. They will muster at the Buttermarket and parade in front of Town and County Hall.
The Armed Forces Day flag will fly above Town and County hall in place of the Saltire, until after June 30.
