St Thomas Amateur Swimming Club celebrated last week after one of its members was installed as the sport’s national president.

Eddie Wilmott was installed as the president of the Scottish Amateur Swimming Association at their annual general meeting at Stirling University last Saturday. A life member of both St Thomas A.S.C. and SASA Midland District Eddie was president at St Thomas for 25 years and holds the distinction of being the first member of St Thomas to have been elected president of the club, Midland District on two occasions and now the national association. St Thomas held their age group championships recently and at the conclusion of the event presented Eddie with a beautiful quaich to acknowledge his 30 years service to the swimming club. They then hosted a reception for invited guests which included family members, former office bearers, and colleagues from other clubs.
