The first ticket was snapped up by Montrose Bryan Adams super-fan Clair Barnett.
David Paton, chairman of MoFest, said: “We’ve been overwhelmed by the response to the announcement that Bryan Adams is to perform his only Scottish outdoor show in Montrose in August 2016, and in the first hour of tickets going on sale, we’ve sold nearly 5,000 tickets.
“Demand is exceptionally high and we’re delighted that so many tickets have been snapped up in such a short space of time.
“Things are looking really good to get to capacity by the time of the show in August.
“We expect tickets to continue selling strongly and tickets are still available, for what is shaping up to be a superb night.”
